Swap Rules:

Kits must include:
~card and envelope
~4 different matching papers size 6X6 inches.
~3 different sets of matching embellishments. (Choose 3 sets of items such as 1 sheet of stickers, 5 buttons, 5 eyelets, 5 brads, 12 inches of ribbon, fiber, lace, 5 flowers, 5 rhinestones or dewdrops, chipboard 1 large or up to 5 small ones, other items please ask. (Example: 10 buttons doesn’t mean 2 embellishment sets. 5 brads, 5 flowers and 12 inches of ribbon equal 3 embellishment sets.)
~One special embellishment. A stamp, stickles, chalk, speciality paper, pen, 3-D stickers like Jolee’s or Soft Spokens, handmade item to use with the kit... ready to use stamped images, 3-D embellishment, die cuts, paperclips, brad buddies, etc. Please ask if you have a question.)

Once you have your Kit:
Rules:
1. You must use a minimum of 3 differnt embellishments in the kit. You can add embellishments of your own but please try to use most of your kits. It is also fun when we post more than the one required card as there is usually enough in these kits to make multiple cards.
2. When mailing these kits you will wrap them to prevent water damage and bending. (Ziplock)
3. Post when you have mailed your partners kit and rec’d your kit.
4. Sign-ups till the last day of the month. You are responsible for checking who your partner is and getting the address by the second day of the month. Partners assigned by random drawing.
5 a. The kits MUST be mailed by the 15th of each month.
5 b. The kit rec’d and finished card pictures must be posted by the 15th of the following month.
6. Please don’t join this swap if you are unable to post before and after pictures, postage is a problem or if you won’t have time to meet the deadlines!!! Please no flaking and ruining the fun for your partner.
7. Only send things you would like to use. Please remember everyone has different tastes and like to use items we personally don’t care for. Trying different things that we may not like helps us to think outside the box... and many times we may be surprised with how much we like the finished product! You may learn to use colors or objects that you might not be familiar with and that is a lot of the fun!

Tulle Flower Tutorial

Here's a Video Tutorial on how to make
the Tulle Flowers I've been posting lately.

Completed Flowers:

You can make the flowers using
silk fabric like the brown one above.
The trick though is it needs
the actual flame to it to melt.

Here's the silk flower was made into a lapel
pin and It's hangs nicely on my scrap bag.

Here's a LO using one of the
small red ones as an embellishment.

Be Mine Gift Bag

Can you believe that it is almost Valentine's Day? But there is still plenty of time to whip up some cute Valentine's scrappy goodies!! I used the February kit to make this adorable little gift bag that I plan to fill up with heart candies and hershey kisses to give to my hubby! Want to make one? It's easy!

Instructions:

- Cut 5 1/2 " x 10 1/2" from solid cardstock

- Score 1 1/4 " from each long side and 4 1/4" from each short side.

- Cut on the last two score lines 1" to other score lines.

- Punch (or cut as I did) 3/8" from the top of the front.

- Use gel pen to make stitching lines around the top of the purse and the punched opening.

- Fold on lines, folding small tabs to inside and adhere the sides.

- Cut belly band from patterned paper 1 1/2" x12" and adhere to front.

- Cut closure band from solid cardstock 1 1/2" x 7".

- Cut patterned paper 1" x 7" and adhere to centre of closure band. Add stitching lines and then adhere to the back under the belly.

- Cut strap 3/4" x 7" and adhere.

I hope you make one and post it in the gallery so we can all admire it!!

Juju Bee's Clean Sweep Challenge #1

Organizing is key to making
your space more efficient.
You want to look at a few key things
about your space and you crafting
style before you start.

What do you have a lot of? Maybe
it’s ribbon or stickers or paper.
What amount of space do you have to
organize your supplies?
Do you have drawer space, shelves,
empty walls, cabinets?
Look at what you use most such as tools &
adhesives; are they in an easy reach area?

Each Monday starting February 1st,
a new challenge will be posted.
You will need to post a before and after
photo of the challenge space and post
it in the appropriate thread.
Photos will need to posted by the next Monday.

Each Challenge post will have ideas of how to
organize the challenge area such as, ribbon,
paper, buttons, stickers ect.
How you organize it is up to you and your needs.
Organizing doesn’t have to be a
pricey venture and I hope to include
thrifty solutions for each challenge.

You will not need to participate every week.
The challenge is mainly just to
help you organize your space.

EllaBella Designs had a wonderful post with the following options.

I currently keep my ribbon pinned or in little baggies in clear drawers. I like this method because I usually think of a color I’d like for my project, go to that drawer and I can easily look through my ribbon. Small scraps or thin ribbon is put into small baggies you can find in the craft department at Wal-mart.

I use ribbon a lot and it became an issue when it was time to pack for crops.
I’ve been seeing these wonderful bags by Pull-EZ which retail for over $18.00.

These are wonderful, but I didn’t need a bag that big, nor could I find one locally. So one day while strolling through the make-up isle I saw small clear bags. The plastic is thick and it’s easy to take a Crop-a-dile and punch holes where you wish.

I need to warn you, I made the one below with too many holes and put in way too much ribbon. I put in about 2ft – 3ft of each ribbon. That exceeded the limits of the bag.

So I’ve redone the bag with less holes spaced about 1 ½ inches apart from each other in every direction. There are holes in both sides of course. This will help insure the ribbon will pull easily and not become stuck.

These would be awesome to make one for each color in your stash and they are a steal at only $2.00 a bag.

Okay Ladies, now that you have a few ideas I can’t wait to see what you come up with for your storage solution.

Tutorial - Make your own Mist Sprays

Hello beautiful ladies! I have a really easy tutorial for you today. It all started about a month ago when I reached for my Glimmer Mist and realized I was almost out...Oh NO!! I went to my local SB store and they were sold out as well, and I had no patience to wait for some to be mailed to me. I had remembered hearing somewhere that you could create your own, this got me thinking...HOW?! So I researched it a bit and found so many different ways to do it. The problem was that I didn't have the inks they say to use, so I just did it my own way figuring it out as I went along. I would like to share with you a few tricks I have figured out.

The things you may need:

*Clean empty spray bottles

*paints/powders (I used some PearlX that I have had forever)/food coloring

*water

Start off by getting your desired amount of powder into your bottle. I was using the end of a crab pick that I had bent to work for what I needed. Hey - I was using what I had around! lol I used two 'spoon' fulls of gold.

Then I added water. I was using a medicine dropper, this made things so much easier - for me!

This is what it looks like after I shook it up.

And this is what it looked like after sprayed onto white cardstock. Notice the pretty shimmer!! Now on these examples I sprayed the mist really heavy to show the colors.

Another thing I played around with was making paint sprays. Just add water to your bottle and I added 4-5 dropplets..ok more like paint gobbs straight from the bottle. On some of my mists I have used just paint and it looks pretty, but if you want it to shimmer then add your powder in a like color.

This is what the brown paint looks like. I didn't add the PearlX powder to this one just to show you how a paint spray looks.

Try adding food coloring to your mister! It looks awesome! The color of your mist will depend on how much food coloring you add to your water. I typically add about 6 drops. I like my colors to be bright! Again you can add the powders to this, but it looks great as is.

Here is that the blue food coloring spray looks like. I also didn't add any PearlX powder to this...all Food Coloring!

Here is a little sample of the colors I made today using these techniques. So fun and versatile and I can make ANY color I need to go with my LO's!! Now that's exciting!!

Here at JuJu Bee's we love to give back to our community and those in need, whether it be Breast Cancer Awareness & Research, JDRF, donating food & clothing to our shelters among many others.

And this time of the year just brings out the best in us. Our family just loves Christmas, it is our FAVORITE time of the year...it's the season of giving. Every year we let our children pick out 2 brand new toys to donate to Toys For Tots™ and you should see the smile on their faces as they drop it in the big bin, it makes them feel so proud that they are bringing joy to another child that may not have as much as them. Star Mini Album Tutorial

Hello! Jamie with you here today and I am going to show you how to make a Star Mini Album. These mini albums are the best...I make one every year to showcase my daughter's Christmas pictures:-) They are also great for a quick and easy stocking stuffer for a family member!

Ok here is what you do:

Step 1: Cut seven 4 x 12 pieces of cardstock (mine is red)

Step 2: From these strips, cut at 5.5 inches. You will now have seven pieces of 5.5 and seven pieces of 6.5 inch pieces.

Step 3: Cut four 4x12 strips of cardstock (mine is white). Then cut these in half at 6 inches.

Step 4: You will now have all of your pieces to make this album.

Step 5: Fold all of the pieces in half.

Step 6: Put adhesive on the biggest piece and the medium piece on the outside edge only.

Step 7: Adhere them together - edges only - with the smallest piece on the inside.

Step 8: Continue to do this with all of your pieces.

Step 9: Time for finishing touches! Adhere some patterned paper over a piece of chipboard (I used a cut up cereal box). Adhere a piece of ribbon to the front and back of your book and then place your covers over top.

Step 10: Your star book is complete! Add embellishments as desired!

Hello All. I wanted to let all my customers that ordered the 3 Limited Edition Seasonal Cartridges know that we haven't forgotten about you. Provo Craft oversold on these cartridges and were unable to send out all the cartridges to their retailers, unfortunately us being one of them, we didn't receive the Snow Friends cartridges but should have them in this week. We have tried emailing everyone that placed an order and we apologize if you haven't received one yet, we unfortunately got hit with that nasty flu bug and have been under the weather for the past 2 weeks and are trying to get back on our feet. It's hard when there are only 2 of you running the business and you both get sick at the same time. But we are trying to do our best. Scrunched Ribbon Tutorial

I've had a few people asking how I do my scrunched ribbon,
so I thought this would be a perfect time to show you all :)
First get out your desired supplies ( I used the November kit!)

Cut down and assemble your papers (I made a card)
adhere one side of the ribbon to your project.

Start folding over the ribbon--adhere under the fold(I use a glue stick)
and under the ribbon ( the part that touched your paper).

Repeat until you get as many 'folds' as you would like.

add your finishing touches :)

Create Your Own Clear Embellishments

Jamie here with a GREAT Tutorial.
I just love using all the fabulous clear/acrylic products on the market but sometimes I can't find exactly what I need, so I am going to show you how I make them myself at home!

The first step is to save the clear plastic packaging that many products are packed in. (What a great way to recycle as well:-)

One easy and fast way to make your own clear embellishments is to simply punch it out.

Another way to create a shape is to simply draw it and cut it out.

If you have a die cut machine, that is another option. In this example, I used my cuttlebug and just used the clear plastic in place of paper to create my butterfly. Depending on the thickness of your plastic, you may have to use your scissors to cut some of it out.

You can even emboss your clear diecut after!

Another option is to use stamps with staz-on ink (I used both whit and black staz-on) and then cut the image out.

Here are all the embellishments all cut out and ready for use! I also included my layout where I used the large, clear embossed butterfly! I hope you give this a try, if you haven't already, and then load your projects in our gallery!

What is the Gypsy?
The Gypsy™ is a portable, personal design studio for use with your Cricut. It allows you to store Cricut® cartridge content, design with that content and then connect to your Cricut to cut. It is expandable in functionality and Provo Craft plans on releasing new software at a later date.

Can you give me an example of the type of software you will release for the Gypsy?
Provo Craft is always working on new things but we can't always share the specifics. However, we can tell you that the first additional software application after the initial release of the Gypsy will be a Photo App that will let you view photos on your Gypsy. The Photo App will be available when you register your Gypsy online.

How is the Gypsy updated/upgraded?
The Gypsy is updated by connecting it to a PC or a MAC with an Internet connection.

Does the Gypsy work with Macintosh computers?
Yes, the Gypsy will be compatible with MAC OSX.

What versions of Windows is Gypsy compatible with?
Gypsy is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista 32 and 64 bit.

How does Gypsy work with my Cricut cartridges?
Using a cable that comes with Gypsy, you connect your cartridges to the Gypsy one at a time and “link" them to your Gypsy. The act of linking allows you to cut all the artwork from linked cartridges from your Gypsy without having to connect the cartridge again to the Gypsy or your Cricut machine.

What happens to my Cricut cartridges when I link them to my Gypsy?
The unique serial number of your Gypsy is copied to the cartridge. This links your cartridge to your Gypsy preventing it from being linked to another Gypsy. The great news is that your cartridge continues to work in all of your existing Cricut products allowing you to use the content on your Gypsy or on your Cricut without your Gypsy.

Do I need to save my cartridges after I've linked them?
Yes! You should keep your cartridges even after you have linked them to your Gypsy. The cartridges will serve as your backup of your Cricut cartridges should you ever need them in the future.

In what ways will the Gypsy allow me to be creative with my Cricut cartridge content?
The Gypsy allows you to select images from the library of Cricut cartridges and place them on an electronic version of the cutting mat. Once an image is on the mat you will be able to size it, rotate it, stretch it, flip it side-to-side, flip it top-to-bottom, group images to make them easier to move and edit, and weld.

How do I cut a design on my Cricut once I have created it on my Gypsy?
You will connect the Gypsy to the Cricut using the USB cable included with your Gypsy and simply press cut on the screen of your Gypsy.

Does the Gypsy give me anything new? Any new functionality today?
a.The Gypsy allows you the freedom to design where you want and when you want. You can take your entire Cricut cartridge library with you wherever you go. Design while you are out at the doctor's office, while you are waiting in your car, or just sitting on the couch. When you have completed your design, connect the Gypsy to the Cricut and cut.
b.The Gypsy allows you to see all your images without the use of a manual or a keypad overlay. For example, when you press the shift key the images on the keypad will change. When you press the blackout key, the keypad will update again. You will never have to use a manual or keypad again.
c.The Gypsy also allows you greater access to your cartridge content by allowing you to search by keyword all of the images on your Gypsy. You can even search images that you haven't linked to your Gypsy because you haven't purchased them yet.
d.The Gypsy allows you to open existing saved designs as templates that you can then use as a basis to create new designs.
e.As mentioned above, the Gypsy is expandable to bring you features that are already in the works.

What happens if my Gypsy crashes and can't be fixed?
You will need to call Provo Craft customer service. If it is decided that the device needs to be replaced, you simply send your non-functioning Gypsy to Provo Craft and Provo Craft will send you a Gypsy with the same serial number. Dependent upon the warranty, there may be a fee for the replacement Gypsy. Once you have received the replacement Gypsy you will need to connect your cartridges to the Gypsy to authorize your Gypsy to once again cut those cartridge images. You will need to keep your cartridges as backup.

How do I use my Cricut while I am waiting for my replacement Gypsy?
Use your cartridges with your Cricut while waiting for your replacement Gypsy. Your cartridges will continue to work in all the Cricut products.

What are the terms of the warranty?
The Gypsy is covered by a 12-month warranty, effective from date of purchase.
**If you preorder, your warranty starts the date that it is shipped to you.

What if my Gypsy is lost or stolen?
Lost or stolen Gypsy devices can also be replaced. This will require that you contact Provo Craft customer service.

How much does the Gypsy weigh?
11 ounces.

How big is the Gypsy?
Approximately 8.5" long, 3.8" tall and 1" thick.

How long does the battery last?
Approximately 4 hours under continuous use and 16 hours under intermittent use.

Are there any accessories for the Gypsy?
Yes, there are! Here is a list what will be available at launch:

a.Silicon Skins in many designs.
b.Screen protectors
c.Colored styluses
d.Colored lanyards
e.Vehicle power supply
f.Replacement AC power supply.

Can I share my cut files between CDS and Gypsy?
You will be able to share cut files between CDS and the Gypsy. This means that the Gypsy will be able to cut files designed on CDS and CDS will be able to cut files designed on the Gypsy. The two products may not have the same features but the files from both are compatible with each other.

What does "2 Exclusive Cartridges Included with the Gypsy" mean?
The Gypsy comes pre-loaded with all Cricut Cartridges available at the time of production. Updates will be available from the web as new cartridges are released. While the Gypsy will contain all the cartridges you will only be able to cut with cartridges you have linked to your Gypsy. The Gypsy comes with two cartridges (or artwork sets) already authorized to be cut using your Gypsy. These cartridges are Gypsy Font and Gypsy Wanderings. There are no physical cartridges included with your Gypsy. These two cartridges only exist in electronic form on the Gypsy.

Transferring Pictures to Tape

Hello Ladies! Today I would like to share with you one of my favorite techniques I have recently learned. It's fun and can be a little scary, but the results are pretty awesome!! We are going to transfer a picture onto tape, yep....that's right...TAPE! Pretty cool right?!

First the Supplies we need:

*A roll of scotch tape

*A bowl of water

*A popcicle stick

*A pair of scissors

*and a cutting mat

What we are going to do:

Start off by applying the tape to your photo in any way you choose, completely covering the picture. Using your popcicle stick get out any air bubbles and go over the entire picture to ensure that the tape is secured onto the picture...this also helps the ink grab onto the tape! Once you are done with that take your entire photo and submerge it into your bowl of water, I know scary!! This part should take 10-15 minutes depending on the quality of picture paper your picture is printed on. I would check it after 10 minutes to see if the backing will easily rub off with your thumb, if not soak it for a few more minutes! Take your picture out of the water and proceed to rub off all the picture paper with your thumb until all you have left is the tape. It will look a little odd until it is dry! But once it dries the results are pretty awesome! Then you just trim up the excess tape off the edges and there you have it....a picture transferred onto tape!

Simple Ribbon Flowers

Today I have a really quick and easy ribbon flower tutorial to share with you fabulous ladies!
These flowers are a wonderful way to add a custom personal touch to your pages especially if you can't find that right embellie! And hey - you can use up your scrap ribbon too!!

First what we need:
* Scrap Ribbons - on average my lengths were about 10-12 inches
* Scissors
* Thread
* Needle

Then we simply thread our needle, knotting the end of the thread, and start running a quick basting stitch close the edge of one side of the ribbon!

Once you get the entire length of the ribbon stitched up gently pull the thread until you get a slight gather in the ribbon.

Then begin to wrap your ribbon until you get something that YOU think looks good. This may require you to pull on the thread some more to gather it more or to let out what you have already gathered a bit, it's all about making it look like what you want!

When you get your ribbon flower to look how you want then take your needle and thread and seal the deal I like to just make a few stitches through the middle of the flower to tack it all together just to make sure that it will remain solid!

And now you have the basic of your ribbon flower! All you have left to do is embellish the center and you are good to go! You can embellish it with whatever your heart desires, which is the fun part!!

I absolutely can not wait to see your Ribbon Flowers!

CHA Here We Come!

We are on our way to Orlando now and so far our trip to Florida has been busy and fun fun fun! I sat next to Josh Brolin on our flight from San Diego to LAX (for those of you who don't know who he is, he played the big brother in the Goonies and is married to Diane Lane), gave my hubby a hard time because he smiled at me and he countered with "well I sat next to a blonde" lol...I think I made out. We also went thru a tornado warning in Tampa as we were driving thru it...scary. Florida is just BEAUTIFUL...the humidity is about to kill me, but still gorgeous.

Tonight we will be attending the VIP event for Making Memories. They will be showcasing the pink slice and new design cards. We will be sure to take pictures of all the new goodies and post them when we get back to our room. So be sure to check back nightly for updates. Loli Pop Flower Tutorial

You know those cute little lolli pop flowers?
Well we're going to take it a little further with hearts.
This is the perfect way to embellish with matching papers & to use up scraps.

Tools need to make paper Flowers:
• Scissors or Cricut (I used the Plantin School Book Cartridge)
• White Paint
• Paint Brush
• Brads
• Spray Bottle or Glitter Water Spray (Optional)
• Hole Punch (I used my Big Bite Crop-a-dile, the smaller hole)
• Your choice of Card Stock or heavy weight pattern paper
• Distresser (Optional) (I don’t use it)

Step One:
Pick your card stock. You can pick 1 paper or a few.

Step Two:
Cut out your hearts.
If you hand cut them you don’t have to follow sizes just make them one bigger than the last.
Made with hearts.
1st layer 3 small hearts
2nd layer 4 bigger hearts
3rd layer 5 bigger hearts
4th layer 6 bigger hearts

*You only need one set of each size to make a flower.
I did 2 sets of each size to make a second flower.

Step Three:
Paint the edges of the hearts
(You can distress the edges first if you’d like.)
You can either let them dry or get a little messy!

Step Four:
Punch a hole in the pointed end of the hearts.

Step Five:
Pick your brad, I chose silver just because.

Step Six:
Stack the hearts from smallest on top to largest on bottom.
Put Brad through holes and secure.
Because I choose to do three sheets of hearts I was able to do 1 of each color in a solid flower and 3 that were all mixed up.
1st layer 3 small hearts
2nd layer 4 bigger hearts
3rd layer 5 bigger hearts
4th layer 6 bigger hearts

Step Seven:
Lay out your flowers over paper towels and pray with water to moisten.

Step Eight:
Start to mold your flowers with lefts and cripples to add texture.
You might have to moisten them more to mold the lower layers.
Flatten out for better use on Layouts and card or leave as a Bulb.

Step Nine:
Let dry overnight before using is best.

Hello, my name is Kristin and I am from Arizona. I’ve been scrapbooking for a little over four years. My layouts tend to revolve around my family, our pets, & our many adventures. My husband, Justin, and I have been married 5 years and have 3 babies all with four legs and cold noses. Those three, Lily -4, Booster-4 and Zoey -1 are all my main inspiration. Scrapbooking has always fascinated me but in 2005 it became a hobby and an obsession. Over the years I’ve seen my layouts take on a new level. Unfortunately Provo Craft has decided to push back the release date on the Kitchen & Bath and European Decor Cricut® cartridges to 2010. I have issued refunds to those that placed preorders on these 2 cartridges, if I missed you please email me and I will issue your refund immediately. The other new/preorder cartridges are still on schedule and will be shipping by the end of June/beginning of July. Hannah Montana will be shipping next week. Design Team Call!

We will be starting a monthly kit club this summer, most likely after CHA in July and I am in search of an AWESOME design team. If you think you have what it takes to be apart of JuJu Bee's Scrapbook Corner Design Team please email 2-3 layouts and/or cards to customerservice@jujubeesscrapbookcorner. I am also in search of a sketch design team member, someone that enjoys creating original sketches for use with our kits and to use as challenges in our upcoming forum...if interested you may also email at the above email address.

The Responsibilities:
*Create layouts and projects with each monthly kit.
*Meet deadlines for submitting layouts
*Participate ACTIVELY and REGULARLY in our online forum (COMING SOON ) by commenting on layouts, welcoming new members, and participating in our forum.

I just wanted to let everyone know that those of you that are skeptical about placing a preorder for the new Cartridges (Stand & Salute, Simply Sweet, Jubilee & Home Decor) and waiting for them to actually be in stock, we are only ordering a limited amount of each. This is a "pre-release" that Provo Craft is offering to their retailers and after the intial order these will not be available again until mid-late October with an increased sale price. Hello Ladies! I apologize for being MIA lately and not keeping up with the blog, I have been SO SO busy packaging up orders, answering emails, trying to get the forum ready so I can launch it by the end of the month and updating the website. I have a lot of exciting new things coming up this summer, new product, monthly kit club, contests in the forum and MUCH more! There is just not enough time in the day to get everything done, but I'm trying. So stay tuned and I will let everyone know when the forum is ready.
